This center will occupy a 4.506-acre site with a 15,000-sq.-ft. structure or the renovation of an existing structure to serve as the hub for all human and economic development activities under the "REVITALIZING RURAL AND URBAN AMERICA" initiative. The Community Resource Center package will consist of a wide range of integrated products and services which, when combined with a simplified construction process, provide a complete interior solution. We have to design this center to adapt to change and maximize investment in people, technology and real estate. We therefore are building flexibility right into the major elements that make up this turnkey space from the wireless technology to the floors, walls and furniture (and everything in between). It will also add community value measured in turns of infrastructure improvements. The infrastructure hub will comprise the following offices and amenities to support the initiative:
Administration Offices - Equipped with complete Information Technology frameworks, these offices will provide staffing, support and coordination for community projects run by local partners and organizations.
Family Health Centers - Used as a conduit to provide Family Health services and Tele-medicine resources.
Community Credit Union - Used as a catalyst for the rebirth of rural and urban areas by increasing the flow of market rate capital into minority and low-income markets, among others.
Kids Computer Learning Center - Children in underserved areas will have access to E-Learning and basic computer literacy with 15 desktop computers and workstations.
Training Rooms - Each state-of-the-art room will include a "Smartboard" for interactive distance learning, video conferencing with 15 laptop computers, offering up to 60 various training programs per week.
Child Development Center - Each center will serve up to 70 children aged 0-4, or based on the needs of the community.
Public Space - Four touch screen kiosk units, three 50" plasma screens that will allow visitors to access information on programs and opportunities.
Commercial Kitchen - To prepare meals for the day care center, poor seniors meals-on-wheels program, and catering services for special events held within the center.
Community Hall - Serving as a multi-purpose meeting place for business, private and community groups with audio/visual/digital Cinema capabilities for a variety of educational and entertainment content. |
